Our Story

How Samong Came Together

Samong started as a small project among educators and developers who had each spent time teaching AI topics informally — answering questions from colleagues, helping friends work through tutorials, and noticing how often people felt lost or overwhelmed by the sheer amount of material available online.

What was missing, they found, was not more content. It was a calmer, more structured environment where learners could move at a pace that suited them, ask questions without feeling behind, and build something real by the end. That observation became the foundation for Samong.

The school opened its first course in early 2024, serving learners in Bangkok and across Southeast Asia. Since then, we have continued to refine how each course is structured, how mentors give feedback, and how we communicate with learners so that nobody feels left in the dark about what comes next.

We are based at 29 Thanon Chan in Sathon, Bangkok, but our courses run entirely online. You can study from wherever you are, on a schedule that works for your life.

Our Mission

To make structured AI development education available to anyone who is curious and willing to put in the work — regardless of their starting point or background.

Our Vision

A community of learners across Thailand and beyond who understand AI from the inside — able to build, evaluate, and work with AI systems thoughtfully and with confidence.

Our Values

  • Honesty about what you will and will not learn
  • Patience with the pace of real learning
  • Respect for every learner's starting point
  • Care for how feedback is given

The People

Who Works at Samong

A small, close team of educators and developers who care about how people learn, not just what they learn.

PP

Pichaya Prasoet

Lead Educator

Former lecturer in computer science at a Bangkok university, Pichaya developed the core curriculum structure and oversees how courses are updated each term.

NS

Narin Suthiwong

Senior Mentor — ML Track

A working machine learning engineer who mentors learners on the Practical ML and Full AI Development Track, reviewing code and guiding project direction.

WK

Warisa Kanchanaburi

Learner Experience Lead

Warisa looks after how learners progress through the courses, responds to enquiries, and works to make each learner's experience clear and comfortable from the first day.

How We Work

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

These are the practices we have built into how Samong operates — not aspirations, but things we do consistently.

Learner Data Privacy

We collect only what is needed for your course. We do not share or sell personal information, and we store data securely in line with applicable standards.

Curriculum Review Process

Each course is reviewed by the teaching team at least once per quarter. Lessons are updated when AI tools, libraries, or best practices change meaningfully.

Feedback Turnaround

Mentors aim to return feedback on submitted work within three business days. For one-to-one sessions, scheduling is offered within the same week wherever possible.

Responsible AI Content

All courses include material on responsible AI practice — understanding bias, evaluating model outputs critically, and thinking about the broader effects of the systems learners build.

Small Cohort Sizes

We keep cohorts small so mentors can give each learner genuine attention. You are not a number in a large queue — feedback is personal and specific to your work.

Clear Completion Criteria

Each course has defined milestones and a final project. You know what you are working toward, and we communicate clearly about what completion means.

AI Development Education in Thailand

The field of AI development has grown considerably over the past few years, and so has the variety of ways people try to learn it. Many learners in Thailand find themselves navigating between scattered free resources, expensive international programmes, and self-paced platforms that offer little support. Samong was built to occupy a different space: structured enough to give you a clear path, human enough to offer real support when you need it.

Our courses move from foundational concepts in AI through to practical model building and, for those who continue, full system development including deployment and monitoring. Each level builds on the previous, so learners who start with AI Basics carry that understanding into Practical Machine Learning and beyond.

Based in Bangkok's Sathon district, Samong serves learners across Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia. All courses are delivered online in English, which also helps learners build comfort with the technical vocabulary they will encounter in documentation, research, and professional environments.
